CEC Lands Eng. Nelson Maritim Appears Before Uasin Gishu County Assembly

Uasin Gishu CEC lands Engineer Nelson Maritim today appeared before the committee of the whole house of Uasin Gishu County Assembly chaired by the Leader of Majority Josphat Lowoi on the purchase of National Bank Eldoret branch building. The CEC lands landed in trouble when members pointed out the discrepancies in figures. The County Government plans to acquire the building at a cost of Kshs. 568 milllion. The meeting was attended by the Speaker Hon David Kiplagat who said the assembly has an oversight role in expenditure of public money. The meeting was adjourned with CEC lands asked to appear before the same committee in seven days and also to seek opinion from National Land Commission and the office of the Attorney General.
The National Bank Building is adjacent to Uasin Gishu County headquarters in Eldoret town. CEC lands was accompanied by CEC Finance Julius Ruto and County Attorney as well as chief officers.
